What are dot·on ear acupressure seeds?

Our dot·on ear seeds are small metallic beads, that come in either 24k gold plated metal alloy or titanium. They are placed on specific points on the ear to stimulate those for therapeutic benefits. Some of the uses include pain management, stress reduction, improve sleep, and support weight loss. With dot·on you get all the insight of our Co-Founder and Head of Product, Carole Duménil, who has been practicing as a licensed acupuncturist for over 20 years. All of our protocols have been developed personally by her on the basis of her years of experience for an easy to use application.

Do I need an acupuncturist to use dot·ons?

The dot·on kits are designed for personal home use. Our video guides and ear charts allow you to locate the points to apply the ear seeds easily. Although an acupunturist may very well use acupuncture needles in the ear, or apply ear seeds on auricular points, you do not need an acupuncturist to use dot·on ear beads at home. If you have any question, do not hesitate to get in touch and we will be more than happy to help!

Do dot·on ear seeds penetrate the skin?

No, the dot·on ear seeds DO NOT PENETRATE THE SKIN. They are pressed onto the skin by way of a hypoallergenic adhesive plaster.

What are the dot·on ear seeds made of?

Our gold-plated ear seeds are made from metal alloy covered in 24k gold.

Our titanium seeds are made of pure titanium.

All our ear seeds come on a transparent, medical-grade hypoallergenic adhesive tape to secure it on the ear.

How long can I keep ear seeds on?

We suggest keeping them on for 5 to 7 days after which it is advisable to remove them, dispose of them and take a 1 to 2 day(s) break to let the skin rest before reapplying.

How do I apply / remove dot·on ear seeds?

Refer to our short video above to see how to apply the dot·on ear seeds. To remove the, simply peel off the plaster.

The ear seeds are single-use only. It is best to thoroughly clean the ear with an alcohol swab (included in the starter kits but you can also use a cotton pad with some drop of high grade medical alcohol on them) and allow the skin to dry completely for maximum adhesion. When applying the dot·on ear seeds, avoid touching the sticky side of the tape with your fingers as it will make the tape less adhesive. We suggest using a tweezers.

I am feeling pain where the dot·on ear seeds are. Is this normal?

Although you may experience mild discomfort on the points especially when applying pressure, the dot·on ear seeds should not cause significant pain.

Sensitivity on specific points of the protocol is generally considered a positive sign that you have applied it to a point which needs attention.

If you experience significant pain or any adverse affects, such as skin irritation or burning sensation, remove immediately and seek professional advice.

Some people have reported feeling drowsy following auriculotherapy; this could be due to the systemic release of endorphins.
